invalid cd key from NWN 2 bought from Steam?

Any one else buy NWN 2 platinum on Steam? if so where did the cdkey folder go? I know where it it is typically. I can not find that folder, or why it would be invalid. I can play the game, but when I try to go to multi player it says invalid cd key/
